My dear cousin Peggy McConnell researched and completed our grandfather, George Horton Browns, genealogy all the way back to 200 AD. It is amazingly complete, especially from before 1000 AD. George Horton Brown was born in Logan Iowa in 1883. He is my Mothers father. I came from the most wonderful family and am so excited to learn more about this branch of family. I am so impressed with In Search of Barnabas Horton.

TheSarbanes Oxley Act requires, among other things, that we maintain effective disclosure controls and procedures and internal controlsfor financial reporting. If we fail to do so, or if in the future our chief executive officer, chief financial officer or independentregistered public accounting firm determines that our internal controls over financial reporting are not effective as required,we could be subject to sanctions or investigations by the SEC or other regulatory authorities. Furthermore, investor perceptionsof our company may suffer, and this could cause a decline in the market price of our common stock. Irrespective of compliance withthe applicable Sarbanes Oxley provisions, any failure of our internal controls could have a material adverse effect on our statedresults of operations and harm our reputation. If we are unable to implement these changes effectively or efficiently, it couldharm our operations, financial reporting or financial results and could result in an adverse opinion on internal controls fromour independent auditors. We may need to hire a number of additional employees with public accounting and disclosure experiencein order to meet our ongoing obligations as a public company, which will increase costs. Our management team and other personnelwill need to devote a substantial amount of time to new compliance initiatives and to meeting the obligations that are associatedwith being a public company, which may divert attention from other business concerns, which could have a material adverse effecton our business, financial condition and results of operation. We do not have a majority of independentdirectors on our Board and the Company has not voluntarily implemented various corporate governance measures, in the absence ofwhich stockholders may have more limited protections against interested director transactions, conflicts of interest and similarmatters. Federal legislation, includingthe Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002, has resulted in the adoption of various corporate governance measures designed to promote theintegrity of the corporate management and the securities markets. Some of these measures have been adopted in response to legalrequirements. Others have been adopted by companies in response to the requirements of national securities exchanges, such asthe NYSE or the NASDAQ Stock Market, on which their securities are listed.

Since he wasnt driving, he had no income, and Schifter hadnt prepared for a time when he couldnt work. Money always burned a hole in his pocket, George recalls. He was always giving it away. Schifters family chipped in to cover the shortfall, but he felt ashamed about taking help from his brothers and mother. It was the last thing on earth I wanted to happen, he later wrote. The despair was overwhelming. Then things got worse. Scared of falling further behind on the bills, Schifter hurried back to work before hed fully healed from the hip replacement. A week after he started driving again, as he stopped at a red light in Times Square, his car was rear ended. The crash reinjured his hip. That meant another six weeks off.
